Wrestler Sangram Singh, who turned 28 on July 21 decided to skip his birthday celebrations as a mark of respect to the sad demise of Dara Singh and Rajesh Khanna. Giving a miss to impressive bashes at lavish hotels and clubs, the wrestler, instead, decided to celebrate his special day with girlfriend Payal Rohatgi in the company of many special and underprivileged kids.
Sangram paid a trip to a special home and a female orphanage, in Andheri, Mumbai, to express his support towards children who are differently abled and the
girl child respectively.
The wrestler-cum-actor and model had a belated birthday party in the company of the kids, where he cut his birthday cake with Payal and distributed food and sweets.
Sangram said, "I didn't want any fanfare on my birthday. Dara Singh was my idol, and inspiration, and I've grown up watching Rajesh Khanna's movies. Their demise has been very traumatic. Therefore I decided to do something for these underprivileged kids and bring some happiness in their lives."
The couple spent some quality time with the kids and even pledged their support towards funding the education of two girls and food for three special kids. "I'm not a super duper rich guy. I don't have
baap-dada ki jaydaat, nor do I have any Godfather in this industry. I have my humble means of earning my livelihood, out of which I decided to fund these kids. They need our love and support and this is just a small step from my side," said he.
